Rothfus Calls on Altmire to REALLY
Step Away from Obama and Pelosi

As Jason Altmire continues to pretend to distance himself from the Obama/Pelosi agenda, Keith Rothfus today called on Altmire to truly distance himself from Obama and joined calls for the removal of Timothy Geithner and Larry Summers as we face yet another week of bad economic news. Republican Leader John Boehner called for the removal yesterday, and the echoes have been resounding.

Rothfus had the following comment:

Timothy Geithner and Larry Summers need to be replaced. After two years of skyrocketing unemployment, huge increases in spending, and a daunting $13 trillion debt, it is clear that we cannot continue on the path we are currently taking. For this reason, I am calling on Jason Altmire to stand with the people of Pennsylvania and encourage President Obama to take a new direction toward policies that encourage growth in the private sector. Until job-killing, free-spending policies are replaced with fiscally sound, responsible spending, our economy will continue its downward spiral. Unfortunately for Altmire, calling for these resignations would force him to address his own wasteful spending habits.

NRCC Upgrades Rothfus to “Contender”

February 8, 2012 | Politics PA While most of the focus on the race for the 12th congressional district has been on the Democratic primary between incumbents Jason Altmire and Mark Critz, Republicans have been trying to find a top-tier candidate to face the winner in November’s general election.

That candidate appears to be Allegheny County attorney Keith Rothfus, who narrowly lost to Altmire in 2010. The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) announced on Tuesday that Rothfus has been upgraded to “Contender” in their “Young Guns” program, designed to help Republican candidates build a strong campaign.
